Virtual try-on on Shopify: an app, not a script.
On most platforms, adding a virtual try-on means inserting a script into the theme. On Shopify, OptiDress works differently: it is an app distributed on the Shopify App Store, installed from your admin and placed on your product pages from the theme editor, like any native section.

Installing from the App Store
You install OptiDress like any Shopify app: from the Shopify App Store listing, by approving the requested access in Shopify's own permission screen.
There is no extra signup screen. No account to create on our side, no password, no form. Authentication goes through Shopify, and the app appears directly in the Apps menu of your admin.
Once installation completes, OptiDress is in your store. No intervention on our side is required.
02How it works
Theme blocks, and why that matters
OptiDress ships as a theme app extension. In practice, the try-on is not injected into your code: it is available as a block you add from Shopify's theme editor, exactly like a native section.
You open Online Store → Themes → Customize, move to the product page template, and add the OptiDress block where you want it. You move it, disable it or remove it from the same interface.
Three practical consequences:
You keep control of placement.
You decide where the try-on appears on the product page, without asking us and without touching code.
Updating your theme breaks nothing.
A theme app extension lives outside the theme: changing or updating your theme does not remove the installation.
Requirement:
theme app extensions require an Online Store 2.0 theme. Virtually every theme in the Shopify Theme Store has been since 2021. If your store runs a heavily customized older theme, check this before installing.

Where the try-on appears on the product page
The shopper builds an avatar from the physical characteristics they declare — height, weight, body shape — with no photo upload. They then see garments worn on that avatar.
For each garment, the OptiDress interface shows the recommended size, with every other size explained. You place the OptiDress block on the product page wherever you want, for instance next to the size selector, where the shopper chooses between S, M, L and XL: that is the one step every buyer goes through, and it is where the doubt actually happens.
The avatar is kept for 30 days on the store. A returning shopper finds theirs and tries on right away, without creating it again.

Billing goes through Shopify
Your OptiDress subscription is billed through Shopify, not directly. The amount appears on your Shopify invoice alongside your other apps, charged to the same payment method.
You have no bank details to send us, no separate invoice to process, no distinct payment relationship to manage.
Cancellation follows the same logic: you uninstall the app from your admin, and billing stops.

Start without paying
The trial plan is free and includes 10 try-ons per month. You install the app, you place the block, and your visitors try on — no card, no commitment.
Beyond that, four monthly plans differ by the number of try-ons included. Each additional try-on is billed at a decreasing rate: the higher the plan, the less it costs. Current amounts are listed on our Shopify App Store page.

Uninstalling
You uninstall OptiDress from Settings → Apps and sales channels, like any app.
Since no theme file was modified at installation, there is nothing to clean up afterwards. The block disappears from your product pages, and your theme stays as it was.

Do I have to touch my theme's code?
No. OptiDress is a theme app extension: you add the block from Shopify's theme editor without opening a single file. No file of your theme is modified at installation.
Will it work with my theme?
Theme app extensions require an Online Store 2.0 theme, which covers every theme in the Shopify Theme Store since 2021. If you use an older or heavily customized theme, check this before installing.
How am I billed?
Through Shopify. The subscription appears on your Shopify invoice with your other apps, charged to the same payment method. No bank details are sent to us.
What happens if I change themes?
A theme app extension lives outside the theme. Changing or updating your theme does not remove the installation, but you will need to place the block again on the new theme's product page template.
Does the shopper have to upload a photo?
No. The avatar is built from characteristics the shopper declares themselves. No photograph is requested, uploaded or processed.
How long until it's live?
The try-on is available as soon as you have placed the block in the theme editor. There is no configuration on our side, so no waiting time.
Can I try before paying?
Yes. The trial plan is free and includes 10 try-ons per month, with no card and no commitment. You move to a paid plan when your volume calls for it.
